Deep Roots, New Growth
Woodland’s future required a story large enough to hold history, faith, affordable housing, and a renewed sanctuary. Deep Roots, New Growth gave the congregation a language and campaign structure for inviting people into that future.

What was
in motion.
The project brought together Woodland Christian Church’s historic campus, a capital need of more than $1 million, and a partnership with Winterwood that would create 38 affordable apartments for older adults. The congregation’s campaign focused donor support on the sanctuary and its renewed role as a place for worship and the arts.
The decisions that shaped it.
Build the campaign around continuity
Develop the Deep Roots, New Growth name, identity direction, and strategy plan around a congregation preserving its history while enlarging its service to the neighborhood.
Give the campaign a voice and a home
Script the launch film, oversee edit production, and build the campaign Substack as a living record for updates, stories, donor communication, and public understanding.
Make the groundbreaking tell the whole story
Arrange the event agenda and script remarks so church leaders, housing partners, civic officials, and media could understand the partnership through a coherent public narrative.
Keep the story moving after the ceremony
Coordinate launch communications and media follow-through that sustained coverage for two weeks after groundbreaking, then continue publishing as construction and the congregation’s return progressed.
